Music Ministry

Worship through song and music!!

St. Martin’s UCC has always been a place full of musical worship and continues to be an important part of our ministry. We have an adult Chancel Choir, Men’s Gospel Group, St. Martin’s Strings Gospel Band, Youth Choir,  and  Handbell Choir. The Chancel Choir sings the 1st, 3rdand 5th Sunday’s. St Martin’s Youth Choir enhances our Children’s Moment on the 2nd Sunday, and the Handbell Choir brings a faith lift on the 4th Sunday. The Men’s Gospel and St. Martin’s Strings added music throughout the year. Our faith story is told through music and readings during the Christmas and Easter Cantata services held each year. St. Martin’s also participates in a Community Choir with the churches of the Big River Ministerial Alliance that we are a part of. The Community Choir join for Easter and Thanksgiving Ecumenical Services and special performances such as the Spring Concert held at St Martin’s Dittmer that benefited community assistance and Care & Counseling. The whole year, music can be heard ringing through this great building, it has even been known to draw strangers in on late nights during choir practice.  Come hear us, won’t you?

We are so excited to announce the addition of our St Martin’s Youth Singers to our music ministry!  Our Youth Singers are in grades 1 – 6. They meet the 2nd and 4th Sunday’s at 9:15 am for practice, and sing on the 2nd Sunday of each month and during other special services throughout the year!  On September 11th they sang a very moving Patriotic Song during our special 9/11 Memorial Service, performed at the 6th Annual Flag Day Parade and services held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, and added their voices and instrumental talents to our Christmas Pageant.
