Meals on Wheels
Delivered Monday through Friday to the elderly in the Dittmer, Morse Mill and Cedar Hill areas. The meals are furnished through the High Ridge Senior Center and St Martin’s serves as a distribution point for our local residents. The second Monday quarterly throughout the year, St Martin’s hosts a Free community dinner to those serviced through the Cedar Hill Peace Pantry. This is a home cooked balanced meal joined with fellowship provided by St Martin’s UCC church members.

During 2007 St. Martin’s blood drives collected 40 units of blood and helped save up to 120 lives. This is something we are proud to support and continue to do so on a yearly basis. Our next Blood Drive will be October 26, 2011 from 2:00 – 6:30 pm in our Fellowship Hall, watch for specific dates coming soon and help with this wonderful life saving community service.
Nursing Home Ministry
The second Sunday of each month church members give a faith lift to the residents of Cedar Hill Manor Nursing Home. Over the years we have had members and family and friends of members who were residents and thought this would be a good way to bring church to them. We meet at Cedars at 2:00 pm, sing hymns and join in fellowship – join us!
Weekly Open AA Meetings are held at St Martin’s on Thursday evenings at 7:45 pm. Please contact the church office at email@example.com 636-285-4797 / 636-274-7078 for direct contact information for the local AA sponsor.
Relay for Life
For several years, St. Martin’s has been a sponsor of the Relay For Life Northwest held each May at Northwest High School. Plans are in the making for the 2010 Relay being held on August 6th & 7th. Contact Karen at the Northwest County Library at 636-677-677-8186 for information on how to participate, be a sponsor, join in the walk or just come by and support survivors and current patients with prayer and fellowship.
Anyone interested in the Cedar Hill or Dittmer Missouri area, contact the Cedar Hill Fire Department, House #1 for more information how to have a CERT Training Program for your subdivision, group, organization, or church.
St. Martin’s is on the front lines of disaster preparedness by being a CERT Training facility. We are blessed to have many first responders – firefighters, police, EMT – as members of our congregation who along with church members saw the need for a base of operations in our rural community in case of a disaster. With the help of the Cedar Hill Fire Department, we have held CERT Training courses over the past few years and plans are in the making for continued classes.
The goal of all CERT teams is to help the greatest number of people in the shortest amount of time. Cedar Hill CERT is working on a training schedule to include training for new volunteers in our community and advanced training between our group and other organizations. Suggested training sessions may include basic medical procedures, CPR—adult & infant, map reading and coordination, rope tying, basic survival skills, and a pandemic flu seminar with training. If you have any suggestions for training please let us know. If you would like information about the Cedar Hill CERT team or training classes please contact Andy Williams or John Huston at 636-285-3345, or Lee Ann Gravis at 314-363-8623 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
It always pays to be prepared. Contact your local fire department for information about CERT Training in your area.
